Lino-cut Printing
An exciting opportunity to explore a relief printmaking technique called lino-cut. Learners will be able to explore printing their lino-cut blocks using black inks and coloured inks. There will also be time to develop images using multiple layers of lino-cut blocks to create more complex coloured images. The process is very hands on and quick to learn, allowing lots of opportunities to develop images and print during the course. Students will also learn about using the Chine Colle technique to enhance their prints. This is a process of adding coloured tissue or paper underneath the print adding colour, depth and texture. Both techniques can also easily be executed at home.
