Free UKOnline IT Taster sessions

For complete beginners! Using UKOnline user journey resources you will be offered three taster sessions over three weeks. These sessions are run as a drop in; however, each taster last for 2hrs so please arrive no later than 10am.

IT for Beginners

Once you have completed the IT Taster, come and find out how to browse & use the Internet, set up an email account, use Word and understand files & folders.

IT for Improvers

This course will give you the opportunity to improve the skills you have and develop further skills. How to browse and use the Internet, setting up an email account and sending & receiving attachments, using Word, understanding files & folders and learning how to protect your PC against viruses.

CLAIT

CLAIT is one of the best known computer qualifications in the UK and will show an employer you have a wide range of computer skills. The CLAIT certificate is gained by completion of the Integrated e-Document Production unit plus 2 other units. If you wanted to gain a diploma you would just need to complete 2 further units.

This is not a beginner's class, if you are unsure of your level, please ask for advice.

ECDL

Do you want to gain computer skills that can help you become more efficient in your existing job and impress your employer, or even the ability to get a new job? ECDL is a way to learn all important IT skills, enabling you to achieve the new improved ECDL plus the British Computer Society (BCS) part 1 and part 2 qualification. It is a test of practical skills and competencies and consists of eight separate modules.

This is not a beginner’s class, if you are unsure of your level, please ask for advice.

How to Create Your First Website

This course will introduce you to website building at a basic level. Learn how to register/buy a domain name, upload files to the Internet and get some tips for a good website design! You will need to be confident using a PC and using the Internet.

learndirect offers high quality, interactive learning materials. Courses are computer based allowing you to learn at a learndirect centre, at work or anywhere you can access the Internet. Information and registration each Wednesday.
