The Whitehawk Inn provides a vital link between adult education and training and finding employment.
Since 1997 the Trustees of The Whitehawk Inn have worked to oversee the dream of turning the premises into a community learning centre. By 2001, through investment from Government funding streams, the once dilapidated pub was ready to open its doors to the public as a fully refurbished training centre.
Over the past six years, people from all over Brighton & Hove have been enjoying what’s on offer at The Whitehawk Inn. Learners of all ages and backgrounds have enrolled on courses and taken part in informal activities and tasters. Lone parents and learners with disabilities who have faced difficulties with returning to learning in the past, have found the Centre accessible and friendly. They have enjoyed learning in the relaxed setting with friendly & practical support from our Gateway team.
Time & time again the comment has been made that learning in an environment of support and encouragement, where achievements are recognised has helped individuals to gain confidence and learn new skills, often going on to new learning opportunities and/or employment.
Help to search for jobs, write a CV, prepare for interviews is available to those who need a helping hand to get back into the workplace.
