Brighton Marathon 2012 runners
The Whitehawk Inn was delighted to have been selected as one of just six local charity partners for the 2012 Brighton Marathon on Sunday 15 April.
We were absolutely thrilled to have had the following amazing people running for us.
If you are planning to run - why not run for us in 2013 - wear the WHI t-shirt and raise money to contribute to the ongoing success of the WHI. Call us on 01273 682222 or email whitehawkinn@whinn.org.uk.

Mark, having been born in the City and still living close by, is a true Brightonian. He is married with two children and works very hard raising funds for local charities. Mark’s earlier energetic efforts in local football sadly resulted in a serious knee injury. However, you can’t keep a good man down and he underwent specialist training, determined to raise the all important funds for us.

Anne suffered a major diving accident in 1993 and has since gone on to climb the Himalayas, white water raft in Alaska and sky dive! She yearns for more adventure which is why she stepped up to the marathon challenge for The Whitehawk Inn. Anne has had strong links with the local community for over thirty years which she describes as being very dear to her heart.

Just back from two years in Australia, Matthew was excited to enter his first marathon and believed that his rugby and volleyball training would help him complete the race uninjured. He saw the opportunity of running for The Whitehawk Inn as a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience and his enthusiasm was fuelled by the fact that he can absorb more carbohydrates (chilli crisps) than usual!

Garry has had extensive experience with various Fire Services throughout the world and has been dedicated to his career for the past twenty years. Having served East Sussex for the last seven of those, he loves the area and has been looking forward to being a part of a day that he describes as ‘unrivalled’. Garry set himself no time limits and was just looking forward to crossing the line!

Charlotte-Elizabeth, 19, one of the youngest to run the Brighton Marathon. Her main focus has been on swimming and her educational studies and she ran to help us offer services to those without the same opportunities she has. Charlotte-Elizabeth, who hates running and most exercise, relied on personal trainer, Adam Kann of Fizeeek, to get her through the ordeal!
Charlotte-Elizabeth - Student - Sponsor Charlotte-Elizabeth
Faith fell in love with Brighton and moved here in 2005. She works in New Media and believes that her daily bike ride along the Brighton seafront must be one of the best commutes in the country. She helped raise over £5,600 to build a school in Africa. However, running a marathon is new territory, but Faith is undaunted and keen to be in the team that helps local people into work.
